The goal of a smart water distribution system is to facilitate and improve the distribution of drinking water to final users. It combines IoT monitoring stations with algorithms based on artificial intelligence and control theory for early diagnosis of leaks and water-quality deviations.
The project seeks to install smart water distribution systems on university campuses and district metered areas as a nationally replicable solution for reducing water losses, overconsumption and electrical consumption, while improving early detection of contaminants and pipe failures.
